During the 5-day May Day holiday, China recorded 314 million domestic trips, marking an increase of 6.4% from the previous year, with the tourism spending up 8.0% year on year to 180.269 billion yuan, according to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Guangdong Province received estimated 46.082 million visitors during the holiday spanning from May 1 to 5, which increased by 18.7% year on year. The tourism revenue was estimated to hit 29.5 billion yuan, up 20.3% year on year.
